Who we are and what this policy covers

Silk Matrix is a customer data platform owned and operated by ei1 ( “ei1”, “we”, “us” ), 245 8th Avenue, New York, NY 10011, USA. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit silkmatrix.ai, contact us, or use the Silk Matrix service.

We play two different roles:

  • Controller for information about visitors, prospects and the people who manage customer accounts. We decide how that information is used, and this policy governs it.
  • Processor for the customer records our clients load into Silk Matrix to match, deduplicate and keep consistent across their systems. For that data, our client is the controller, and our client’s own privacy notice applies. Section 4 explains how we handle it.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and run the service.

Customer data we process for our clients

Clients use Silk Matrix to connect their systems (such as their ERP, CRM and e-commerce platforms), match records that refer to the same customer, and keep that data consistent. When we do this, we act only on the client’s documented instructions. For this client customer data, we:

  • process it only to provide the service the client has contracted for, under a data processing agreement (DPA);
  • do not use it for our own marketing or sell it;
  • limit access to staff and subprocessors who need it, all under confidentiality obligations;
  • help the client respond to individuals’ rights requests and data breaches;
  • delete or return it at the end of the contract, as the DPA sets out.

If you are a customer of one of our clients and want to access, correct or delete yourdata, please contact that business directly. If you contact us, we will pass your request to them.

Sharing and international transfers

We share personal information only with:

  • Service providers who host, secure, support or email on our behalf, under contracts that restrict their use of the data.
    Subprocessors: LiquidWeb, Google, Oracle, Anthropic, OpenAI.
  • ei1 group offices, including our offices demographically located, where needed to serve you.
  • Authorities or advisers where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganised, under equivalent protections.

We are based in the United States and also operate from the United Kingdom, Argentina and Pakistan. When we transfer personal information out of the UK or EEA, we rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.
